Our International Operations & Exploration Group is seeking an experienced Business Development Engineer to join its New Ventures Team in the Calgary office. The New Ventures Team is responsible for adding new E&P opportunities to Husky's international portfolio outside the established operating areas of China and Indonesia. As the successful candidate you will work on exploration, producing property and corporate evaluations as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Key responsibilities of the position include:
- Identifying and evaluating business development opportunities including:
- Exploration license bid rounds
- Exploration & development deal opportunities
- Producing property and corporate acquisitions
- Asset, Corporate, Basin, and Country research aimed at developing business development strategies
- Providing general reservoir and production engineering technical expertise
- Preparing technical and economic assessments including creating and evaluating conceptual development strategies
- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with other Husky work groups and with external parties
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Be a registered Professional Engineer (or eligible to attain a P.Eng with the application province) with a recognized engineering degree
- A minimum of 15 years experience as a reservoir, production or exploitation engineer including at least 5 years working on A&D related activities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- International or offshore experience is required
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively with people internal and external to the Husky organization
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- The ability to travel overseas for occasional meetings and data rooms
