In our environment of record oil prices and dynamic price movements, it is vital to ensure oil price risks in the Downstream organisation are assessed and understood. To this end, the Downstream Price Exposure Management Policy and Risk Manual provide guidance for all risk measurement and management activities.



The Supply business is the owner of the Downstream Price Exposure Management policy. Supply is divided into three major operational regions (Europe, East, and USA), supported by a Global Supply Strategy and Operational Excellence Group.

Regional Risk Analyst

Responsibilities:
As part of the Supply East organization, you will support the Regional Risk Coordinator in the implementation of the Price Risk Management policy in the East, with the vision of moving to active risk management where hedging activity will be performed by our Global Trading network. Measuring and monitoring of our priced and unpriced exposure from crude, feedstock and products is the key deliverable from this position.
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Developing and maintaining a good network of relationships (with refineries, supply, finance and trading) to facilitate collection and interpretation of stock levels and pricing information;
  • Extracting data from Supply and Trading systems;
  • Calculating, analysing and reporting exposure results to management and stakeholders;
  • Contributing to the continual enhancement of Price Risk Management processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting/Statistics/Engineering;
  • Proven numeracy and logical thinking skills in analysing conflicting data whilst maintaining a macro view;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access;
  • Strong communication and people skills;
  • Knowledge of SAP (stocks module) and Risk Management an advantage;
  • Ability to adapt to changes in processes and pro-activeness/perseverance in driving and implementing initiatives.
