Pipelines Engineer

Managed from the Perth office, Chevron's upstream interests in Australasia include gas production in The Philippines, exploration and production of oil, LNG and domestic gas from The North West Shelf Venture and the Barrow and Thevenard Island oilfields and the management of the Greater Gorgon Development.We currently have a permanent position available within our Perth-based Deepwater Gas Team for a Pipelines Engineer. The key function of the role is to develop pipeline conceptual designs to support alternative analysis for field development options.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of preliminary cost estimates and development schedules to support design options
  • Liaison with Project design teams to ensure alignment with consistency of approach in the preparation of pipeline design
  • Coordination of technology management for pipeline systems and liaison with key stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to ensure the application of appropriate technologies
  • Communication/reporting of development proposals and design options to key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Minimum of 10 years of industry experience
  • Conversant with pipeline design practices and installation requirements for large scale gas developments with prior experience in concept development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
