Lead Mechanical Engineer (Vietnam)

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a leading global design and project engineering consultancy in a joint venture establishment in Vietnam.

As Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for managing and leading the Mechanical Department. You will be pivotal in liaising with the client and project manager and coordinating engineering activities with other disciplines in the project. Additionally you will monitor and control budgets and ensure excellent quality of documentation within the department and input to tenders and proposals for Mechanical Engineering. A strong demonstration of interpersonal and leadership skills will see you organizing, managing and appraising a team of Mechanical and Piping discipline engineers and designers. Essentially you will provide guidance to your team on achieving department quality requirements, and for the preparation of Mechanical, piping materials and valve specifications so as to ensure subsequent purchases adhere to required standards.

To successfully secure this role, you will possess a Degree in Engineering, with a minimum of 12 years Mechanical and Piping engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, 10 years of which has been dedicated to design in Onshore and Offshore related facilities. Ideally you will be a member of the Institute of Engineers, Australia (MIEA) or equivalent and possess extensive current design experience with renowned design houses within the petrochemical industry, particularly in offshore oil and gas installations. Most importantly, you will be equipped with thorough knowledge of the Industry’s codes and standards and a good understanding of offshore engineering practices applicable to topsides equipment layout and piping design for oil and gas facilities.
