The Exploration & Production business began in Asia Pacific over a century ago, back in the 1890s, when the first wells were drilled by Shell in Sumatra and Borneo. Recent discoveries in Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam provide an aggressive expansion to our portfolio in the region.
Shell Exploration & Production Asia Pacific operates in seven countries - Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, China, Philippines, New Zealand, Australia and Singapore.
We currently have positions available in Miri, Malaysia.
Responsibilities:
- The Long Term Gas Supply Planner provides the production forecasts for the total Sarawak Gas Supply Network, and plays a key role in optimizing the long term business plans;
- Maintain and run the long term gas forecasting tool Hydrocarbon Field Planning Tool (HFPT), integrating input from Reservoir Engineers, Production Technologists and Process Engineers;
- Evaluate opportunities to increase business value by optimizing project timings within Production Sharing Contract (PSC) limits. Evaluate opportunities to grow the business with links to commercial and New Business Development (NBD);
- Contribute to discussions on Supply Planning Issues with the statutory bodies and co-venturers;
- Line reports to the Engineering Function (EM) but work in close collaboration with the Sarawak Development team;
- Contribute to Business Plan and Work Programme and Budget.
- Engineering/Petroleum Engineering Degree is required, with a minimum of 4 years experience.
- Technical capacity in own discipline and has with good working knowledge in economics and planning. The technical skills required for the supply planners are:
- Excellent modeling skills;
- Good understanding of interaction between subsurface and surface infrastructure;
- Familiar with scenario modeling and risks/opportunity management;
- Knowledge of HC Field Planning Tool (HFPT) and/or any other Integrated production system modeling tools (e.g. PETEX IPM) is an advantage.
- Authorisation to work in Malaysia is required for this position;
- A remuneration package based on the conditions in the country of employment will be offered for this position.
